In 30 years, experts predict a high standard of living in the capital. Today, a strategy for Nur-Sultan's development until 2050 has already been developed. The deputies of the city representative body were the first to get acquainted with the document at the meeting of the permanent committee.

Before predicting the upcoming development of the capital, it was necessary to analyze the existing realities in all areas of city life. These studies, and then the development of the Strategy for the development of the capital until 2050, were carried out by the  "Astana" International Scientific Complex" Center. In order to get the most reliable data, researchers have done a lot of work. Surveys were conducted among the population, round tables, interviews with various experts, and in conclusion, the researchers agreed on the results with the Ministry of National Economy, receiving a number of suggestions and comments.

— Thus, three stages of transformation of the capital into a global city have been developed: 2020-2025 - an emphasis on improving the quality of life, which will make the city comfortable to live in, 2025-2030 — attention to the development of new industries and changing the structure of the economy, so that we will achieve a competitive and steadily growing city, and until 2050 — the growth of international significance, which allows us to achieve an internationally integrated city, - said the Head of the "Astana" International Scientific Complex" Center Anuar BURANBAYEV in his speech.

According to him, the first step has already been taken. 11 airports in Kazakhstan have acquired the fifth freedom flight, which will allow the capital to integrate into the global network.

— One of the major problems for business is the availability of the city. Previously, businessmen who arrived here had to stay here for two or three days due to the specifics of the flight schedule. It may be good for the city, but it is not profitable for business, where money and time are counted, the speaker said.

If the proposed initiatives are implemented, Nur-Sultan will become smart and safe by 2050, with equal opportunities for all citizens. It will create conditions for students, including access to all scientific knowledge and technology.

"To create favorable conditions for residents and guests of the city, initiatives will be implemented in seven areas: high-quality and affordable housing, healthcare, education and competence, transport system, comfortable urban environment, engineering infrastructure and public safety, the Head of the Research Center said. — By 2025, there are ambitious goals to create favorable conditions for business development, building a knowledge-based economy and creative sectors in Nur-Sultan.

Meanwhile, the Deputy of the representative body Ramziya UMERBAYEVA noted that she did not find any points in the strategy regarding the improvement of environmental indicators. Although, in her opinion, it is the environmental condition of the city that determines its development.

Anuar Buranbayev explained that when the study was conducted, emissions of both harmful substances and solid waste analysis were also taken into account. However, the deputies recommended that these figures should be further reflected in the presentation to know what the city will achieve by 2050 in environmental terms.

Deputy Akhylbek KURISHBAYEV also expressed his opinion on the development of the capital.

— When you ask what is the phenomenon of the development of the most advanced cities in the world, I noticed that it is not only in the knowledge-based economy through innovation, the application of scientific achievements, but also in the training of modern personnel. If we have systemically important research centers in the capital and large cities, universities of international level, then all these pictures from the presentation will come alive. The University system is the backbone, where qualified personnel and applied research results that could be applied would be prepared, believes the people's representative.

In addition, according to some participants of the discussion, the analysis of the health sector, which directly affects the condition of citizens and their well-being, was not carried out thoroughly enough. For example, the forecast for the number of students at Medical University.

— The strategy states that the growth in the number of international students will reach 2000 by 2025. I can say that today there are about 600 foreign students in one medical university alone, and if we take other universities, this figure is almost 2,000. We will achieve this indicator in two years, so it is worth to review the analysis and adjust these indicators, - said Deputy Mazhit SHAIDAROV.

The developers of the strategic development program promised that all the research will be reviewed and edited in the near future.
